Apache Hadoop ecosystem, time to celebrate! The much-anticipated, significantly updated 3rd edition of Tom White’s classic book, Hadoop: The Definitive Guide, is freely available here for all my readers.
The core of the book is about the core Apache Hadoop project. The 3rd edition actually covered both Hadoop 1 (based on the MapReduce’s JobTracker) and Hadoop 2 (based on YARN), which made things are more comparative between MapReduce and YARN approach. Only Hadoop 2 is covered in the 4th edition, which simplifies things considerably. I am not going to discuss further about the book here, as you can easily get all the details from the book itself.
